SPARE presents music from a wide array of genres to the student body. Hundreds of professional entertainers and internationally famous concert acts have performed at MTSU. Regional and local artists are featured regularly, and other opportunities to host award-winning college acts and national touring artists may arise throughout the year.

Throughout each week in the school year, SPARE presents full length feature films in the Student Union Video Theater. Selections may include current major studio releases, documentaries, cult films, throwback films, and public domain movies. Additionally, our films program runs two major annual traditions: The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and the annual MTSU Student Film Festival.

SPARE and the MTSU Athletic Department work together each year to plan MTSU’s official tailgate experience, Party in the Grove. The Sporting & Games manager and their council will operate the fall tailgate experience, as well as plan other sporting and/or game-related events. In the spring, the council will begin planning for future Party in the Grove experiences.

This council plans, produces and conducts a yearly program of novelty activities, comedians, and interactive giveaways throughout the school year. Additionally, the Variety council puts together our annual Stuff-a-Critter event, one of SPARE’s most anticipated events each year!
